Once you have completed registering for your classes, please log on to my.bgsu. Under the "My Services" section is a link to "My Bursar Bill" and "My Current Bursar Transactions."
Click on the "My Current Bursar Transactions" link where you will find the cost of your tuition.
Please note it is an overnight process applying the registration fee (applicable to all students), the matriculation fee (for
first time students), the clinical lab fee (for education majors) and the usage fees (for art and theater majors). Your financial
aid will also be applied overnight if it has not already been deferred. To avoid any potential problems the first day of classes,
please contact our office as soon as possible with any questions.
Bowling Green's tuition is divided into two charges: instructional fee and general fee. The instructional fee, supplemented by state appropriations, finances the University's educational programs. The general
fee pays for most student services and activities. In addition, those students living on campus pay room and meal charges
(See Residence Halls and Meals). For current fee rates click here .
Per-hour and Combination Fees
A student who is an Ohio resident and is registered for 10 credit hours or fewer pays on a per-credit-hour basis. A non-resident
student pays an additional per-hour surcharge.
If a student drops a course, thus reducing the fee status from 11-18 hours to 10 or fewer hours, the per-credit-hour rate
schedule will be applicable to the remaining hours. The refund schedule for the dropped courses is based on a class-by-class
reduction schedule (see Bursar's Office for details).
If a student is registered for any combination of courses (main campus, extension/off campus, BGSU Firelands, resident credit
center, etc.) tuition/fee charges are determined based on the per-credit-hour rate for each area in which a course is taken
with final tuition assessment calculated based on the class area rate table within the highest fee level taken. For example,
a student taking 9 credit hours Firelands and 3 credit hours main campus will be assessed fees based on the applicable credit
hour rates, but subject to the main campus rate cap (11-18 credit hours) since it is the higher of the two fee levels taken.
The standing of the student (undergraduate or graduate) is also used to determine the applicable rate cap (11-18 credit hours).
For example, undergraduates will be charged the graduate level per hour rates for any graduate courses taken but the 11-18
credit hour fee cap will be no higher than if all courses were taken as undergraduate courses.
Rate categories listed below are based on where the actual classes or academic programs are taking place, not where you live.
