University Bookstore Community book loan program

Full cost of all required course materials will be sponsored by the University Bookstore for 50 incoming first year students per academic year. The students will be chosen from select secondary schools in the Bowling Green and Huron areas, based upon financial need.

The support will defray the high cost of the course materials during the first year of studies at BGSU. Course materials must be returned at end of term, but students will have option to purchase (at reduced cost) any materials which they wish to keep.

Financial need must be demonstrated by and will be based upon timely completion of the FAFSA. Book loans would be issued exclusively to entering freshman and are not renewable after the first year.

Book loans are renewable for spring semester, provided sufficient academic progress is made and all books issued are returned in acceptable condition or otherwise accounted for. Students will be required to sign a promissory note accepting responsibility for the safe-keeping, care and return of assigned materials.
