Interviews
All interviews must be arranged through and are monitored by the Athletic Communications Office.
Head Coach Responsibility
The Office of Athletic Communications will work with the head coaches to providing their student-athletes with specific guidelines for speaking to media representatives. Please see the Media Interview Guidelines at the end of this section.
Sessions
Interview sessions are normally held in conjunction with regular practices and after athletic events.
Interviews for department sponsored shows, such as Coaches Radio and/or TV Shows and Halftime Shows are arranged through the Athletic Communications office.
Special Arrangements
Special arrangements for other types of interviews must usually be authorized by the head coach, with the approval of the Athletic Communications office. The Athletic Communications office requires at least 24 hours notice from a media member requesting an interview, unless special circumstances dictate otherwise.
Interview Guidelines
No student-athlete will be asked to miss class due to an interview or press conference. Additionally, the Athletic Communications Office will not give a student-athlete’s home, dorm or cellphone number to media members. Student-athletes may arrange telephone interviews by agreeing to a phone appointment at the Athletic Communications Office, their residence of at the office of their head coach.
