As “Representative of Falcon Athletics” you may:

  • Provide an occasional meal in your home (as opposed to a restaurant) for a student-athlete or a team. (Occasional is defined as three or four times per semester, maximum)
  • Provide transportation to your home for the student-athlete who will be receiving an occasional meal there
  • Provide a job to a student-athlete during the academic year as long as you and the student-athlete sign an Employment Verification Form before employment begins. The student-athlete is compensated at a normal rate of pay and not based on his/her value because of his/her reputation or fame, and the student-athlete is paid for the work actually performed.
  • Provide a summer job to a student-athlete as long as it is a normal rate of pay for that position and the student-athlete is paid for work actually complete. Please remember to check with the Compliance Office at BGSU before employing any student-athlete. Student-athletes are required to complete an Employment Verification Form before beginning any employment opportunity.

NCAA regulations strictly govern the benefits a student-athlete may receive. Before you provide any student-athlete with a meal, a ride, or any other benefit not available to all students, please contact the BGSU Athletic Compliance Office.
