Swing dancing returned as a favorite with many fraternities and sororities sponsoring swing dancing events.
The University changed its student parking policy by opening on-campus student lots to all on-campus students causing some criticism.
The University cancelled a full day of classes for the first time since 1992 because of inclement weather, including 20-below wind chills.
The Electric Falcon Design and Racing Team set an event record by nearly 1.5 seconds at the APS Electric Race in Phoenix.
The women's gymnastics team finished the season with a third place finish at the 1999 National Invitational Tournament in Philadelphia.
The women's tennis team marked its most successful year ever in the history of the program at BGSU.
