Students were forbidden to use or ride in automobiles except by the permission of the Dean of Students. The University's military training programs - V-12 and V-5 - changed the complexion of the campus. The Falcon men's basketball team traveled to a tournament in Madison Square Garden in March. The war took a toll on the Class of 1944 with enrollment dropping from 1,348 in 1942-43to 842 in 1943-44.
