The Recent Graduate Award is presented to an individual who has graduated from BGSU within the last 15 years and has demonstrated a commitment to civic involvement and to participation in University and/or Alumni Association activities.

2009 Honoree: Mike Young '04
Mike Young, a graduate of the Visual Communication Technology program at BGSU, owns and operates Third Cousin, an interactive new media production company. Through Third Cousin, Mike has worked on websites, banners, and flash games for companies such as Disney, Warner Brothers, Verizon Wireless, and Nestlé. Mike is also involved in the Southern California chapter of BGSU’s Alumni Group.

2008: William Gustwiller '01
A fine arts graduate of BGSU, William Gustwiller is the owner and head chocolatier of San Diego-based Eclipse Chocolat, founded in 2004. Eclipse strives to expand the boundaries of chocolate flavors while operating in an eco-friendly manner and donating 10% of its annual net profit to area nonprofits. Mr. Gustwiller’s creations have earned positive reviews in several publications and are featured at exclusive venues including San Diego’s W Hotel
