The Alumni Service Award is presented to a BGSU gradate who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, devotion and service
for the betterment of the BGSU Alumni Association.
 2008 Honoree: Dr. David Weinandy '81, '82, '97
Currently a professor in communications at Aquinas College (Grand Rapids, Mich.), Dr. David Weinandy holds four degrees from
BGSU including B.S., B.A., M.A. and a Ph.D. in philosophy, the last received in 1997. In addition to his work with the BGSU
Alumni board of directors, he is actively involved with the Miss Michigan pageant and has been honored for his volunteerism
with organizations such as Hospice of Holland and Greater Grand Rapids.
