Joseph R. Zimmerman is director of carrier alliances for Verizon Wireless. He received his bachelor’s degree (1979) from Bowling Green State University. He is president of the Atlanta Alumni Chapter and chair of its scholarship selection committee. He has served in various capacities for the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity and helped raise funds for the “To Better the Man” fund, which provides scholarships for fraternity students and leadership initiatives for all students at BGSU. Mr. Zimmerman is a member of the Presidents Club and the BGSU Men’s Chorus Alumni Association. He is a board member and grand councilor for Alpha Sigma Phi National Fraternity. Mr Zimmerman is also a volunteer with his church, Project Open Hand, Sons of the American Revolution and other historical societies. He and his wife, Diane, reside in Alpharetta, Ga.
