 JAN RUMA Resource Development Chair, Alumni Association Board of Directors Term: 2006 - 2010
Jan Ruma is vice president and executive director of CareNet, Toledo, Ohio. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration/marketing
(1986) from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree in education (1992) from the College of Technology/Training
& Development. At BGSU, she was president of Panhellenic Council, an aerobics instructor, a member of Phi Mu sorority and
the recipient of a Distinguished Student Award. From 1988-1994, she was associate director of alumni affairs. She is a member
of Falcon Club and a past member of the College of Technology Dean’s Advisory Council. Ms. Ruma is secretary of the Red Cross
Blood Services Board, vice chair of the Workforce Investment Board of Lucas County and secretary for the Ohio Hospital Association
Foundation for Healthy Communities Board. She received the “20 under 40” Award, the Nova award for CareNet, the Ohio Hospital
Association’s Meritorious Service Award and past president of the Association of Fund Raising Executives (AFP). She resides
in Toledo with her husband, Pete ’85, and their two children.
