 DOROTHY M. TUCKER Member, Alumni Association Board of Directors Term: 2009 - 2013
Dorothy M. Tucker is a police psychologist with the Los Angeles Police Department and a consulting professor with Saybrook. She received a
bachelor’s degree in education (1958) from Bowling Green State University, a master’s degree in counseling from the University
of Toledo. She earned a doctorate of philosophy in counselor education and school psychology from Ohio State University as
well as a second doctorate from the California School of Psychology. Dr. Tucker has received several awards including, the
2001 Mentor Award, the Distinguished Alumni Award from Bowling Green State University in 1998, the Helen Marguiles Mehr and
Silver Psi Awards from California Psychological Association, in addition to numerous awards from the California state legislature
and the community. Dr. Tucker is a founding member of such community outreach groups as the Black Woman’s Forum, One Hundred
Black Women and Families in New Directions/Crenshaw Consortium, she is also a co-founder of the Black Pioneer Scholarship Fund at Bowling Green State University. Dr. Tucker has been named as a appointee by the Chief Justice of the California as Chair of Judicial Council of California/Administrative
Office of the Court to the Access and Fairness Advisory Committee, Council Judicial Education and Research (CJER) Fairness
Education Committee and the Procedural Fairness Committee. These are all committees of the Judicial Council of California. Dr. Tucker currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
