 BROCK D. BIERMAN Member, Alumni Association Board of Directors Term: 2005 - 2009
Brock Bierman was sworn in as chief of staff and senior advisor to the assistant administrator for Europe and Eurasia of the United States
Agency for International Development (USAID). After earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism (1986) from BGSU, he served
as state representative to the Rhode Island legislature from 1994-98 and 2000-02. Since graduating from BGSU, Mr. Bierman
has received numerous honors, including National Republican State Legislator of the Year, officer commissioning in the Rhode
Island Militia, the National Federation of Independent Business Award and the highest rating from the Rhode Island Common
Cause for ethical integrity and accountability. Mr. Bierman also has been a member and officer of many boards, community groups
and environmental committees including the Commission on Welfare Reform, Boy Scouts of America and the West Bay Land Trust.
He resides with his wife, Lisa (Gardner) ’86, and their two children in Great Falls, Virginia.
