Denise Dartt served as judge in the Toledo Municipal Court from 1985-2004. She began serving in January 2005 as judge for the Lucas County Common Pleas Court. She received her bachelor’s degree (1975) from Bowling Green State University and earned her juris doctorate degree (1978) from the University of Toledo Law School. She has served as president of the Association of Municipal/County Judges of Ohio and as chair of the Ohio Judicial Conference. She is the first woman to hold either of these positions. In Toledo, she is a board member and past board president of Substance Abuse Services Inc. (SASI), and a board member of Harbor House. She is a member of several bar associations including the Ohio State Bar Association and the Toledo Bar Association. She resides in Toledo, Ohio with her husband, Stephen D. Koder.
