The First BGSU Regional Advancement Strategy (RAS) Cabinet established in Cleveland, Ohio
A pilot program to educate employers, students, and parents about the superior educational experiences available at Bowling Green State University was recently launched in Cleveland, Ohio.
Bowling Green State University is blessed with truly distinguished and successful alumni across the United States and around the world. In addition, it has many friends, as well as parents of current and past students, who occupy positions of prominence and importance in their respective communities. All of these individuals are uniquely positioned to advance the regional reputation and visibility of BGSU in a variety of ways and, in the process, to provide great value to one another and other BGSU constituents.
The BGSU Regional Advancement Strategy Committee members are convinced that with an organized national network of leadership volunteers both the awareness and reputation of BGSU and its graduates will be fully developed for the benefit of our current and future students.
For these reasons, the university’s Office of Alumni and Development, with endorsements from the President and the BGSU Foundation Board, have established the first, Regional Advancement Strategy Cabinet in the Cleveland, Ohio, region.
The Regional Advancement Cabinets, by connecting alumni, parents, and friends of influence in key areas, will heighten BGSU’s visibility and strengthen its presence at the regional level. They will localize leadership opportunities by engaging alumni, parents and friends who are capable of advancing the BGSU and its strategic initiatives. Members of the Cabinets will be the “voice of the university” at the regional level and serve as a sounding board for all BGSU activities taking place in that part of the country. Just as importantly, it is expected that these cabinets will create value for regional constituents by fostering inter-group connections and by linking individual constituents to each other and a BGSU network.
If you are a leader that would like to get involved or just want to learn more about the Regional Advancement Strategy program, please email program co-chair Jim Beaverson jbeaver@bgsu.edu or Mo Cotton-Kelly mcotton@bgsu.edu with your inquiry.
