Improved network for Falcon grads now available

The BGSU Alumni Association is excited to announce that MyZiggy, the newly renovated online community for Falcon alumni, is now available and open for registration! Earlier this year, the Alumni Association began a series of significant improvements to its online community; these changes required a temporary shutdown of all community-based services. Features of the new community include:

  • Enhanced, more intuitive overall design and navigation
  • More versatile profile pages for individuals and chapters/groups
  • Comprehensive event calendar and convenient online registration

The BGSU Alumni Association is committed to serving the entire network of Falcon alumni, and these improvements reflect that commitment. If you have questions that are not addressed here, please feel free to contact us at myziggy@bgsu.edu.

How do I register?

Begin by clicking here. Signing up for free access to the MyZiggy community only takes a few moments. To get started, the system asks for your last name and a Constituent ID number. This number, requested for verification purposes, is randomly assigned to everyone in the University's alumni database and is not based on any personal information such as Social Security number, phone number or address. It is not the PIN number assigned to you as a student. Lastly, it is a one-time entry; during registration, you will create a user ID and password for future access to MyZiggy.

What changed?

In February 2011, sweeping improvements to BGSU's online alumni community began. While these changes required a temporary shutdown of all community-based services, the ultimate result for BGSU alumni is an improved visual design and overall navigation, additional networking services, a comprehensive event calendar / registration process and much more.

Does it cost anything to access the new alumni community? 

No. The online community for Falcon alumni is just like every other service and benefit offered by the BGSU Alumni Association—free and automatic upon graduation.

Why are these changes being made?

The Alumni Association recently underwent extensive updates to its main database, and the overhaul of the online community service is part of this larger series of updates within the organization. The goal of these changes is to improve efficiency, lower costs and provide more comprehensive customer service to our network of more than 170,000 alumni, friends and donors. 

What will happen to the connections and personal profile information I had stored in the old online community? 

Unfortunately, the basic personal information that alumni had entered previously will not carry over into the new system. However, this will provide an ideal opportunity during the registration process to ensure that the most up-to-date information, relationships, pictures, networks and more are reflected in your profile.

Please note that BGSU values your privacy. No information will be made visible to other alumni until individuals elect that option in their personal profile.

I set up an e-mail address that ends in @bgsualumni.com through the old online community. Does this address still work?

Yes. Alumni that established a permanent e-mail address using the "@bgsualumni.com" domain will experience no interruption in this service. However, if you would like to change the personal e-mail address that ultimately receives messages through this service, please send an e-mail to myziggy@bgsu.edu.
