Volunteering & Leadership
Volunteers can choose their level of involvement from a variety of opportunities. This allows our alumni to continue to feel connected to their alma mater while promoting BGSU's outstanding faculty, programs, and core values in their own communities.
Easy ways to help BGSU
- Speak to a prospective student about the University

- Send your business card to the Office of Admissions for inclusion on the "Wall of Fame" (Please call: 1-866-CHOOSEBGSU)
- Talk about BGSU to parents of high school students
- Mention BGSU when speaking about your job at a high school career day
- Bring a student to visit campus (Schedule a visit now or view a virtual tour of campus)
- Encourage high schoolers you meet to consider BGSU (Apply to BGSU online or print a application here)
- Volunteer to work at a BGSU open house
- Agree to allow prospective students to contact you about BGSU
- Make a gift to The Excellence Fund for BGSU
- Check with your employer about matching your annual gift

- Purchase Alumni Association merchandise through the BGSU Bookstore
- Consider hiring a BGSU graduate by contacting the Career Center
- Mention your BGSU education in public addresses
- Update the University regarding your current personal and professional accomplishments
- Place a BGSU decal on your car, purchase a license plate frame or support the alumni license plate program as well as many other benefits for Alumni
- Wear a BGSU sweatshirt from the BGSU Bookstore
- Tell new friends about your BGSU experiences
- Getting married? Include your alma mater in your announcement
- Display your diploma in your office or workspace
- Attend Homecoming
- Become an active member of your local alumni chapter or society
