Presidents' Day Volunteers:
Helpful Information

  • The program will take place even if inclement weather should occur.
  • Show your spirit (!) by wearing BGSU colors. Orange is highly visible and helps visitors to identify you as a volunteer.
  • Please remember to wear your BGSU nametag.
  • If you run out of any materials or need something, call the Office of Admissions (2-BGSU) and we will get things to you.
  • Become familiar with the day's agenda. Visitors would rather ask you than read the materials themselves.
  • Find out where the restrooms and phones are, for your sake and the visitors'. Please feel free to take turns taking a short break if you need to--don't suffer!
  • Please arrive at your assigned area about 10 minutes early, if possible. Get the scoop, complete your shift, and then wait for your replacement when your shift has ended. Please do not leave areas unattended.
  • Please understand that we cannot predict the flow of the crowd. Slow times are to be expected.
  • You may have to stash your coat if you are working inside. Handbags will be troublesome, as some areas have no particular place to put them.
  • Please use the shuttles for your own transportation. Do not attempt to move your car! Parking will be a zoo.

Answers to Questions Our Guests May Ask

  • Individual appointments with faculty or staff will not be available. Refer guests to open houses (listed on the day's agenda) if offered in their department of interest.
  • Class visits are limited to those on the printed Class Schedule. This is included in the visitor packet.
  • A tour of the Recreation Center does not include use of the facilities.
  • Guests who are issued tickets for illegal parking should be directed to the Office of Admissions. (Which reminds me---leave your car where it's parked and use our shuttles. Your tickets can't be dismissed!).
  • We walk on our campus tours. We do not have tour busses, golf carts or dune buggies.
  • Why, we're as surprised as you are by all of this wind and cold. Usually it's sunny and 72 degrees here.
  • If you have any questions or problems on the day of the event, contact any member of the Admissions staff, or call Admissions at 2-2478 (2-BGSU).
