Francophone author to give Pallister Lecture

Francophone author to give Pallister Lecture Marie Célie Agnant

Marie Célie Agnant will discuss her experiences and evolution as a writer as the 2014 speaker in the Pallister French-Canadian Lecture Series.

Agnant will present “The Legacy of Silence” at 6 p.m. Wednesday (April 6) in the Pallister Conference Roon in Jerome Library. Her talk is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception.

Born in Haiti and based in Quebec, Canada, since 1970, Agnant now moves between Canada, France, Haiti and, most recently, French Guiana, in South America. Her talk, in English, will be a blend of anecdotes and reading from her work.

The talk is made possible through the support of Dr. Ramona Cormier, Trustee Professor Emeritus of Philosophy.
