BGSU to honor veterans at football game Nov. 8

BOWLING GREEN, O.—In honor of Veterans Day, Bowling Green State University is offering free football tickets to area veterans and active duty service members for the Nov. 8 home game against Northern Illinois. Family of active duty military members currently serving overseas will also receive free admission. The game starts at 8 p.m.

Veterans’ family members can buy tickets at the group rate of $8. Simply provide valid veteran/military identification on game day to pick up your ticket.

A special pre-game tent will be available from 5-7:30 p.m. hosted by Nontraditional and Transfer Student Services. There will be free food and drinks provided for all veterans and their family members as well as grab bags for the children. All veterans are also asked to come down to the south end zone prior to kickoff to be honored.

For the second year in a row, G.I. Jobs magazine has recognized BGSU as a Military Friendly School— at both the Bowling Green and Firelands campuses. The 2012 Military Friendly Schools List honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to help service members and veterans transition to student life.
