  • BGSU student leads study of area bats Jun 30, 2011 4:04 PM On a hot, early June night, a group of volunteers sets out through Toledo’s Wildwood Metropark. Wearing headlamps with red lights, and well sprayed with mosquito repellent, they carry “Anabat” acoustic monitoring devices. As “citizen scientists,” they are recording bat sounds for later analysis, and will repeat the exercise in different Metroparks every other week through August.

  • BGSU board approves budgets, sets tuition Jun 24, 2011 4:11 PM At its last meeting of the fiscal year, and the last to be attended by President Carol Cartwright, the Bowling Green State University Board of Trustees approved educational and general budgets of $285.7 million for the Bowling Green campus and $14.8 million for BGSU Firelands. The board also set rates for tuition and fees for the 2011-12 academic year and approved a net funding pool for faculty and staff salary increases.

  • Huron businessman named BGSU trustee Jun 7, 2011 4:20 PM Daniel Keller, chairman of the venture firm Keller Capital Ltd. and president of Kellco Investment Ltd., a private investment company specializing in venture capital and private equity investments, has been appointed to a nine-year term on the Bowling Green State University Board of Trustees, Gov. John Kasich announced June 7. He replaces J. Robert Sebo of Salem, whose term expired in May.
