String Camp - June 14-19

String Camp WEB

Are you a string student looking for a challenging atmosphere where you can improve on your skills? Join us this summer for the SMI String Camp at BGSU! As a violin, viola, cello or bass player, you will receive individual guidance from members of the talented string faculty at BGSU. Each student is assigned to a small chamber ensemble whether a duo, trio, quartet or even larger. A typical day could include small ensembles, an individual lesson, seminars, guest artists and student/ faculty performances. Students will have the opportunity to perform in the final Chamber Music Gala Concert.

Guest Artist

A versatile musician and artist eager to explore new artistic medias, Marcelo Martinez Vieira is a cello player with a solid education as well as a passionate composer, musical creation and improvisation enthusiast, always in transit between different musical styles and diverse artistical activities. Raised in Piracicaba-SP, had an early musical initiation, at the age of five, in Piracicaba Music School-"Maestro Ersnt Mahle", where he had cello lessons for several years with Monica Wolff and André Micheletti among others, and where he took part in several chamber, orchestral and vocal groups.
