All students must register and pay for camp in full to be considered for scholarships. If selected for scholarship, a reimbursement check will be issued after the camp has started.
Dorothy M. Price Scholarships
Dorothy M. Price, a long-time friend of the College of Musical Arts, is interested in educational opportunities for young people and through a generous gift has provided funding for a special scholarship of $150 for each of the camps. Students are selected based on talent and financial need. Students must first register for the camp with full payment and submit their scholarship application. Junior Audition Day Scholarships
Students who are in their junior year of high school can attend our College of Musical Arts Junior Audition Day where they can go through a mock audition with our music faculty. Students who audition may be recommended for scholarship to attend the Summer Music Institute. These scholarships are typically $100. Students must first register for the camp with full payment. At the discretion of each director, directors may offer scholarships to exceptionally talented students they have heard at auditions or contests. Students must register for the camp will full payment. If selected, the student will receive a reimbursement check after camp has started.
Community Area Scholarships
Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships from band, vocal, or orchestra boosters or community foundations in their area. Many offer summer scholarships for students to attend such camps. Students must register for the camp with full payment to BGSU. Community organizations will need to reimburse the student personally.
Dubois Competition Scholarships for pianists
Students who enter the Dubois Piano Competition may be selected for a scholarship to attend the Summer Music Institute Piano Camp. The student must register and pay in full for the camp.
