College of Musical Arts Student, Yi Chieh Anita Chiu, is awarded the 2016 BGSU Studio Arts Award

Yi Chieh Anita Chiu has been awarded the 2016 BGSU Studio Arts Award, given out by the Graduate College. This award recognizes and promotes excellence in studio-oriented and creative projects. Dr. Penny Kruse is Anita’s advisor. Anita completed her master’s in violin performance last May. She is here a third year for a second specialization in Collaborative Piano. For this project, she submitted her master’s recital recording and wrote an Artist’s Statement on the challenges presented in each piece. Her repertoire included Passacaglia in G minor by Heinrich Biber, The High Line by Andrew Shapiro, Tango Etudes by Astor Piazzolla and Lekeu’s Sonata in G Major.
