BGSU junior awarded in 2017 Cooper-Bing International Vocal Competition

Autum Cochran-Jordan, soprano, was selected as the Encouragement Award Winner of the 2017 Cooper-Bing International Vocal Competition sponsored by Opera Columbus. This award is given to the most promising young singer who shows interest and potential in the field of opera. Applicants must be between the ages of 17-21 by May 21, 2017, and must be enrolled as a student at a high school, college or university (undergraduate) located in Ohio. She will be awarded on stage of the Southern Theatre in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday, May 21st. Autum Cochran-Jordan is a student of Myra Merritt.

The 2015 Encouragement Award Winner was Bethany Post, a BGSU undergraduate, also a student of Ms. Merritt.
