BGSU alumna receives honorable mention as most creative person in administration

Clare Burovac (graduate of 1990) was appointed Portland Opera's Director of Artistic Operations in 2008, where she heads the Resident Artist Program and hires all guest artists, in addition to overseeing the chorus, orchestra, and the education department. Prior to joining Portland Opera, Ms. Burovac spent 14 years at Seattle Opera, taking on a variety of increasingly demanding positions, including Production Stage Manager and Production Coordinator of Wagner's Ring Cycle. At Portland Opera, Clare led the company in producing its first two commercial recordings, and headed up the company's new 'Opera a la Cart' initiative which debuted in 2016. She has served as a guest lecturer for Seattle Opera and the National Association of Teachers of Singing, as well as a frequent judge for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
