The Gish Film Theater is named for the Gish sisters, Dorothy and Lillian, both of whom where pioneer actors during the early
1900's and made their debut in Risingsun, Ohio, located in northwestern Ohio.
Built in 1921, this building is named in honor of Mrs. Myrna Reese Hanna, the first woman to be elected to the General Assembly
from Wood County and co-author of the bill which made Bowling Green a college. Originally it was a laboratory elementary school
where BG students would take classes in University Hall and come next door to Hanna Hall to student teach.
