What is Unified Communications? 

Unified Communications is the integration of communication methods and technologies into a comprehensive system in order to provide greater functionality, efficiency, and mobility. [ more ]

As a part of Unified Communications (UC), BGSU will see the replacement of the voicemail and telephone system and a unified email system for faculty, staff and students. In addition to these enhancements, new communication modes will be available with future UC phases. Modes such as: videoconferencing, WebEx, voicemail sent to email, Instant Messaging and Presence Information will provide users with greater ability to communicate via computer, phone, and messaging in an environment tailored to work best for each user's needs.

  • Phase 4 Telephones - Underway
    • Telephone deployment to take place in June and July.  Select the Telephone graphic below for details
  • Phase 3  Email - Underway
    • Previous FalconMail users are now Unified BGSU email users  
    • Next step will be to move faculty and staff to cloud email

  • Phase 2 Unity Voicemail Implementation completed March 29
  • Phase 1 Network Switch Upgrades completed March 22
