Spacer Advanced LDAP Settings in Eudora for Windows Spacer
   
 

To have LDAP return only the fields you want:

  • Go to Tools > Directory Services
  • In the Databases window (bottom right corner), click on the name of your LDAP server that you created (E.g. BGSU Directory)
  • Now click on the Modify button at the bottom
  • Select the Attributes tab
    • Click on the Add button
    • Using the list below, type in an attribute name that you want displayed in the Attribute Name field
    • In the Presented As field, click on the arrow to get a list of field names
      • Select the field name that corresponds to the attribute you entered
      • If there isn’t a field name that corresponds to the attribute you entered, you can type one in
      • For the Full Name (cn) attribute, you must select Name from the drop down list

        Attribute Names Description
        cn (Full Name)
        street (Address)
        title (Employee Title)
        telephonenumber (Telephone Number)
        uid (BGSU E-mail account username)
        mail (Email Address)
        classification (Classification – Student, Faculty, Staff)
        department (Department individual is in)

    • Do this for all attributes that you want to display when you do a search

  • When you are finished entering the attributes you want, put a checkmark in the box labeled Return Listed Attributes Only
  • If you want to remove an attribute from the list, click on the attribute name and then click on Remove
  • When you are finished, click on OK
  • Now, when you do a search, only the attributes you listed will be shown

To search by full name and BGSU account user name:

  • Go to Tools > Directory Services
  • In the Databases window (bottom right corner), click on the name of your LDAP server that you created (E.g. BGSU Directory)
  • Now click on the Modify button at the bottom
  • Select the Search Options tab
  • In the box labeled Word-wise search Filter enter the following:
    (|(cn=*^0*)(uid=*^0*))
