Obtaining a BGUnix Account |
|
 |
|
|
|
|
These are the directions for obtaining an individual account on BGUnix. If you need a BGUnix class account, a subdirectory
for that class will be added to your individual BGUnix account. You will receive instructions for setting up your BGUnix class
account from your professor.
To obtain an individual account on BGUnix, you will login to the My BGSU portal. To do that, you will need your BGSU E-mail userid
and password. If you do not have a BGSU E-mail account, go to one of the registration sites and apply for one. You will be able to use your BGSU E-mail account in approximately one hour after it is created.
Use this process to request a BGUnix account:
- Using a current web browser, enter this address:
http://my.bgsu.edu
- When the My BGSU login page is displayed, enter your BGSU E-mail Username and password. Then click on the login button or
press the RETURN key.
- In the My Server portlet under 'Account Admin', click on the 'Add Server Account' link.
- When the BGSU Server Account Registration page comes up, you will be asked to pick a server account. Select BGUnix and click
on the submit button.
- A copy of the Acceptable Use Policy for Information Technologies is posted for your review. If you agree to abide by those
policies, click on the checkbox, then the submit button. You must agree to receive an account.
- Important! When you have read the notice that you have successfully completed the registration process, click the 'done' button
to log out of your authentication process.
You will receive an e-mail message when your BGUnix account is available.
