BGSU MyVPN Self Help
Below is information regarding MyVPN at BGSU. There are links to documents and websites to assist you with MyVPN.
BGSU MyVPN is a "portal" technology that allows users to securely access web servers from off-campus through a web browser. The technology being used is called an SSL VPN. It works in a manner similar to the way you access secure websites. With minimal user interaction, an encrypted virtual tunnel is established between your web browser and BGSU MyVPN . Once you successfully log into the VPN, the activity from your web browser travels through the BGSU MyVPN to the web servers on the BGSU network.

What is the purpose of BGSU MyVPN?
The purpose BGSU MyVPN is to provide an additional layer of security, using both encryption and extra authentication technology, for faculty and staff at BGSU to access administrative web applications not accessible to the general Internet population.
What is a VPN?
Virtual Private Network (VPN) – a “tunnel” connection created to allow secure communications over public networks. Essentially VPNs encrypt the traffic from your system to the BGSU network allowing you to work remotely without worry of someone intercepting your communications.

Answering Password Security Questions:
When you enter an answer to your password security question, it must exactly match the answer we have on file. Otherwise, the system will reject your entry.
We have attempted to compose a list of questions that are safe, stable, simple, memorable, and applicable to a large percentage of the population. However, we realize that we will not be able to provide questions that will be applicable to every user. If there is an instance that you do not feel like you have a good answer to any of the questions presented to you we recommend creating a unique, memorable answer to one of the questions.
