AHRS
AHRS (Advantage Human Resource & Payroll System) is a mainframe system containing data on BGSU employees including faculty,
students, administrative, and classified staff. Also, located in this system is payroll, leave, benefits, deductions, and
job applicant data. All personnel who need to gain access to AHRS must fill out an AHRS Security Action Request Form. After
June 27, 2005, AHRS will no longer be the core HR system so it will only be available for read access. It has been replaced
by PeopleSoft HCM (Human Capital Management).
AMS SIS
SIS (Student Information System) is the mainframe package where processing of student data takes place. Information related
to processing of admissions applications, class registration, grades, and student billing is contained here. All personnel
who need to gain access to SIS must fill out a SIS Security Action Request Form.
DARS
DARS (Degree Audit Reporting System) is a server used to produce degree audit reports that track a student's progress towards
graduation. It uses a combination of student data from the SIS system and degree definitions stored on the DARS server to
create the audit reporting. For further information about DARS, contact the Office of Registration and Records at (419)372-8441.
SAM
SAM (Student Aid Management System) is the mainframe system used by the Office of Student Financial Aid to load and process
student aid data. This system handles the loading of electronic and manual applications, verification of data entered, creation
of individual award packages, disbursement of funds into the Student Account system, and exchange of data with the Department
of Education for such programs as Direct Loan and Pell grants. To obtain access to the SAM system, contact the Office of Student
Financial Aid.
PINNACLE
Pinnacle was selected as the vendor for BGSU's telephone billing system. It provides both a web portal for customer access to review personal/student BG Call Card telephone bills for current and historical months plus a web portal for department access allowing budget administrators to view departmental telephone bills for current and historical months. Updated call usage
reports are available within minutes after a call is made so spending can be monitored. Itemized statements for telephone
charges can be viewed through the portal on the 5th of each month. Pinnacle also handles telephone equipment inventory.
