The Office of Institutional Research offers a broad array of decision support services to all units of the University and to external bodies as necessary. Its primary purpose is to facilitate the collection, analysis, and interpretation of institutional data and the provision of information to support planning and decision making.
The principal activity of the Office is to carry out routine and ad hoc, internal, and external, longitudinal and comparative studies of the University's operations and the environment in which it functions. Examples of activities carried out by the Office include the provision of descriptive information about the University's resources, processes, and outcomes and of analytical information related to such topics as enrollment management, assessment of student learning and development, resource allocation, and program review. The Office also serves as the University's point of contact for reports and surveys requested from governmental and commercial agencies (e.g., U.S. Department of Education IPEDS reports and college guidebook surveys).
It is the vision of the Office of Institutional Research to be seen within the University as the avenue of first resort for decision support information and to become known among our colleagues as one of the best institutional research offices in the nation.
