Honors College Participation Program

The Honors College Participation Program (HCPP) is a new participation program that was developed as a student's Honors Project. The HCPP is within the Honors College is meant to encourage students to get involved. Students will receive points for being in an Honors organization, attending events and trips, and participating in certain activities. The program will end at the end of the semester and students who reach a certain number of points will be awarded prizes. The prizes for this semester are a tumbler cup and 1/4 zip sweater. This program is to promote building relationships with the honors faculty and other students as well as proudly displaying some Honors College gear.

You will find lists below of possible ways to gain points. To find a complete list of HCPP-eligible events and activities along with point values, please visit your Honors College Canvas page here. This is a pilot program for this year and the lists below are subject to change.

Guidelines

**Students will receive points for membership in multiple Honors organizations for the organizations listed above. However, only one leadership position will receive additional points. Students will receive an additional 50 points if they hold a leadership position in the organizations listed above.

Up to 4 Honors Learning Community Events can be counted towards the Honors Participation Program for 25 points each.  There will be a document that you can upload on Canvas to receive points for attendance.

*Events with an (*) can only be counted for one time per semester.

There a document on Canvas to fill out if you think you’ve done something to deserve points.  The student will fill it out and explain why they deserve the points and the Honors Participation Program Panel will discuss how many points to award you for.

NOTE:  This program runs each semester and points do NOT carryover from semester to semester.

Prizes

The points are tracked through Canvas and will show up that you have been graded on that given assignment.  Assignments will be added throughout the semester if they meet the criteria of the program.  You can check how many points you have throughout the semester via Canvas.  Once you accumulate the 450 points, you can email casdavi@bgsu.edu to set up a time to pick up your sweater.  Only the first 50 students to receive 450 will be able to get a sweater.  If by the end of the semester you will not accumulate the 450 points, but have 250 or more, you qualify for the tumbler cup. You can email casdavi@bgsu.edu to arrange to pick that up as well.

NOTE: Students will only receive one prize depending on number of points they have accumulated at the end of the semester.
