Undergraduate Research Symposium
Celebrating Student Excellence
Last year the Honors College sponsored the second annual Undergraduate Research Symposium: Celebrating Student Excellence, which featured and celebrated the projects of BGSU students. The symposium highlighted work done by students as part of the Honors College Project, McNair/TRiO, CURS, AIMS, ACTION, COSMOS, and the PLA. These students drive BGSU and our community forward with their hard work and dedication to scholarship, which is why we put their work on display at this event.
All are welcome to attend future Undergraduate Research Symposium events. We highly encourage Honors students to attend to not only support their classmates and friends but to get exposure to a variety of great project topics.
Last year, the symposium was held on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 2:00 to 6 PM in Room 101 of Paul J. Olscamp Hall. Business attire is requested (examples of business attire are slacks, dress pants, button down shirts, suits, knee-length dresses, blouses, and ties) and light appetizers and refreshments are typically served. Registration is not yet open for the 2015 symposium.
At the conclusion of the symposium, the Honors College Dean presented winners of the Mayeux Award, a prize that recognizes outstanding Honors Projects. Honors students who complete their project with a grade of "A" and present at the Symposium were eligible for the prize.
