Production or Film Credits:

Angel Vasquez began making films in 1989 while attending community colleges in the San Francisco Bay area.  In 1995, he began a career as a photojournalist and graphic designer for the U.S. Air Force where he received the Air Force photojournalism design and editing awards.  Upon completion of seven years of meritorious military service, he continued to work for the Department of Defense for another year before returning to study and practice film.

In 2000, he earned an Associates Degree in both Graphic Communication and Telecommunications from  Solano Community College, Suisun, California.  That same year, Vasquez was accepted to the San Francisco State University Cinema Department where he attained a B.A. in Cinema in 2002, and later his MFA in 2006.  

He has been nationally recognized for his experimental films AZUL(2001) and with his "911" film A Change of Faith (2002) which received the Princess Grace Film Award. He  recently completed production of Colma: The Musical, an award winning film (Roadside Attractions). Also, he is working on  Cachao! The Story of Isreal Lopez (in post, IDC) and Turning Point (in post, BGSU/Toledo Films).

Mr. Vasquez has produced more than 20 short films; personal experimental documentary works  include Ten Secrets for Happy Couples and 24 City.
