Applying for Graduation

Students applying for graduation must do so on-line through MyBGSU. After signing onto MyBGSU, click on Student Services in the left column, select Student Center and scroll down to the link to Apply for Graduation. Please read the instructions and complete the application carefully. Once you submit your application on-line, you will get a confirmation screen. You are strongly advised to print this screen for your records.  If you have any questions regarding the on-line application, contact the Registrar's office at 419-372-8441.

Please consult the Graduation Checklist to ensure the completion of your degree requirements by the published dates.  Late applications will not be processed.

Effective June 25, 2008, the Bowling Green State University Board of Trustees approved a $35.00 graduation application fee that will be charged each time an application for graduation is submitted.

Doctoral Candidates

Survey of Earned Doctorates (pdf): Doctoral candidates must submit the SED, a transcript and diploma hold will be place on your account until the form is submitted.  While submission of the form is mandatory, completion of this survey is voluntary.   We encourage candidates to complete the form to ensure that the University is accurately represented in national statistics.  If you do not wish to participate in this survey, you are required to write "REFUSED" in the Comments section on the back, sign and date the SED, and submit the form to the Graduate College.  For additional information on the Survey of Earned Doctorates, please read the Privacy Policy and Information Brochure.

Microfilming

Attention Doctoral and MFA Creative Writing Students: The University has revised the process of charging the $65 microfilming fee for doctoral dissertations by UMI/Proquest, and the $20 BGSU thesis binding fee.

Requesting BGSU Transcript

The Graduate College can no longer provide degree completion letters for students. For those students who require a transcript relatively soon following the commencement ceremony, please download the transcript request form from the Registrar's web site. Be sure to check the box "Hold for Notification of Degree." Every effort will be made to clear students as soon as possible following the ceremony. However, due to the large number of graduates, we cannot guarantee specific dates by which approval will be made.
