Fellowships, Scholarships and Awards
The Coverdell Peace Corps Programs at BGSU provide returned Peace Corps Volunteers with the opportunity to enhance the skills and knowledge acquired during service while continuing to help underprivileged communities right here in the United States. We welcome retuned Peace Corps Volunteers to our campus to bring their service home through six graduate school programs and two graduate certificates designed to build upon their service and to meaningfully apply those skills.
The Project Search Program helps to identify, recruit, orient, matriculate, mentor, monitor, retain, graduate, and place multi- ethnic graduate students throughout their BGSU tenure. This program purposefully celebrates diversity, promotes civility, encourages inclusion, and embraces healthy interdependence among multi-ethnic graduate students, faculty, and administrators on-campus.
The Katzner Award is designed to supplement the costs for graduate student research (project, thesis, or dissertation) and professional development activities. Proposals will be evaluated based upon their ability to promote high quality independent research.
The Winifred O. Stone Graduate Student Development Fund helps to support outstanding Project Search, accomplished College of Musical Arts, and industrious international graduate students. Full-time graduate students with good standing, who have made notable academic and cultural contributions both within the University and the Bowling Green community (and beyond) may be nominated by the graduate coordinator within their academic department
The Winifred O. Stone and Presidential Diversity Enhancement Fellowship is a non-service fellowship for incoming multi-ethnic graduate students. This fellowship is to be used during the first year of graduate studies at BGSU. The award will cover the cost of tuition and the stipend amount based upon respective departmental award designations. These graduate students are assigned an assistantship during the second year. Doctoral student funding ends by the conclusion of the third year. Eligible students have maintained good academic standing, have been admitted to an academic program (enrolled full-time) at BGSU, and have strong letters of recommendation.
