Graduate Student Orientation

Bowling Green State University's Graduate Student Orientation ( GSO ) program is here to provide graduate assistants professional development and to assist all graduate students in reaching higher skill levels in technology, research, and teaching competence, as well as personal development and academic proficiency. GSO is required for graduate students receiving their first assistantship contract from BGSU.

VISION

The mission of Bowling Green State University’s Graduate Orientation program is to enable all graduate assistants and non-funded graduate students to acquire advanced skills in the areas of professional development, instructional competencies and techniques, and technology and research. Additionally, we will provide them with internal campus resources and external community resources. Finally, we will aid students in gaining an understanding of academic policies and procedures, in order to promote their academic and professional success.

MISSION

The vision of the Graduate Student Orientation program is to provide support of teaching, research, and administrative skills for Bowling Green State University’s incoming graduate assistants, as they seek to fulfill their academic and assistantship contractual responsibilities
