Our progressive, entrepreneurial curriculum is provided in the newly renovated and state-of-the-art Robert W. and Patricia A. Maurer Center, which was designed to foster discovery-based learning, hands-on experimentation and collaboration. Fund Designations

College of Business General Support Fund - The Schmidthorst College of Business General Fund is a flexible fund that allows college leadership to pivot and innovate, enriching the experiences of Schmidthorst College of Business students, staff and faculty alike.

College of Business Building Fund - The Robert W. and Patricia A. Maurer Center is the new home for the Schmidthorst College of Business. This state-of-the-art facility will help students to learn, grow and continue to go beyond business as usual.

Brian V. Sokol Entrepreneurship Scholarship - This scholarship was established in memory of Brian V. Sokol who was instrumental in the entrepreneurial program at BGSU. The scholarship will be awarded to students with an entrepreneurial minor that demonstrate financial need.

Chan Hahn Professorship in Supply Chain Management - Dr. Chan Hahn was a beloved professor of supply chain management at BGSU. His students remember him well and are raising funds to endow a professorship in his honor, designed to help recruit and retain the best and brightest faculty members in Supply Chain Management.

Dean Ray Braun Student Success Scholarship - To honor Dean Ray Braun, alumni have come together to endow a scholarship. This scholarship will support Schmidthorst College of Business students who are involved in extracurricular activities. Dean Braun is passionate about the success of BGSU students and this scholarship is a tribute to that passion.

Dr. Darwin B. Close Professorship - Dr. Darwin Close was a renowned professor of insurance at BGSU. He is beloved by many of his students and they have come together to endow a professorship in Dr. Close’s memory, supporting the recruitment and retention of the best and brightest faculty members in Insurance.

Marketing Advisory Board Scholarship - The 2021 Marketing Advisory Board established this fund to provide assistance to marketing students in financing their education.

Paige Redlin Empowerment Scholarship - Paige Redlin was a BGSU graduate and MBA student known her motivated presence and go-getter attitude. The goal of this project in her memory is to permanently endow the fund at $25,000. If the fund balance does not reach the minimum $25,000, the fund will be converted to a non-endowed fund, for current use, and awarded annually based on the criteria of the fund.

Paul J. Hooker Non-Endowed Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Support Fund - This non-endowed funds allows the college to enhance entrepreneurship offerings to more students, assist both students and alumni to incubate and launch business ventures and improve E-Week each April to attract entrepreneurial leaders from around the country.

Shelley Brazeau Temple Memorial Scholarship Fund - This fund was established in memory of alumna Shelley Brazeau Temple who was passionate and committed to mentoring the next generation of leaders. This scholarship will be awarded to business students, with preference given to those with demonstrated experience in or commitment to the advancement of women in the field of business.

Student Ambassador Sponsorship - The Schmidthorst College of Business Student Ambassador Program utilizes a select group of knowledgeable, motivated and enthusiastic student leaders to assist the dean and the College with engaging business alumni, current students and prospective students.
