Welcome to the website for the Dorothy and Lillian Gish Film Theater and Gallery at Bowling Green State University in Bowling
Green, Ohio.
The Gish Film Theater and Gallery, located in Hanna Hall, is named to commemorate the achievements of Ohio natives Dorothy
and Lillian Gish in the history of American film. The theater and gallery were dedicated at BGSU on June 11, 1976. The theater
also commemorates the acting debut of Lillian Gish in the opera house at Risingsun, Ohio, a Wood County community approximately
20 miles from Bowling Green. The BGSU academic departments of Film and Theater, English, Popular Culture, Ethnic Studies, History, Romance Languages, and German, Russian and East Asian Languages are all frequent users of the theater. The theater is also used for various film programs sponsored by the University Activities Organization.
