Exchange Project |
 |
|
|
|
Welcome to the web presence for the BGSU Exchange Project. This project will transition account holders from the current BGNet based
email system to a new Microsoft Exchange-based email system during the first half of 2008.
Once transitioned to Exchange, Windows users can gain access to their email and calendar using Microsoft Outlook 2007 and
Macintosh users can use Entourage 2008. Users will also have access to email and calendars through the Outlook Web Access
(OWA) webmail-based client provided by Microsoft as well as any application that supports IMAPS. Outlook and Entourage allow
for users to have integrated calendaring, email, tasks, contacts and other features.
Current project plans allow for moving all Meeting Maker accounts to Exchange in May. Transitioning all accounts at the same
time will allow for little interruption to the ability to schedule meetings. Further information regarding the migration
date and preparations for the move will be available closer to the transition date. Users who are migrating to Exchange for
email should continue to use Meeting Maker for calendaring until the Meeting Maker migration is complete in order to avoid
losing any calendar information.
Training for Outlook and Entourage will be offered by Continuing and Extended Education. Please reference training information
at: http://ctc.bgsu.edu/exchange.
