Steps to Apply

Follow the steps as a general guide to applying to BGSU. You may need to submit additional paperwork along with your online application, transcripts, and test scores. Specific admission requirements are located on your program’s website.

  1. Go to: http://choose.bgsu.edu/apply/online/?online
  2. Click the link for your desired degree
  4. Enter a username and password

Note: There is a non-refundable application fee. If for some reason all of your transcripts do not arrive or you decide not to begin for a given semester, another application and fee will be required for the next semester.

Request official copies of transcripts from every college or university you have attended. The Office of Transfer Evaluation (419-372-7959) will then evaluate your official transcript for possible credit towards your degree. Official transcripts and any applicable test scores should be sent directly to:

Applications take approximately two weeks to be processed. After you have been officially admitted to BGSU, email your program advisor for further instructions. Visit your program’s website to find the advisor’s contact info and specific admission requirements.

Your BGSU account is used to access BGSU email, the MyBGSU web portal, and a number of other serivces. Go to the ITS Self-Help page for detailed instructions.

If you wish to take BGSU classes without pursuing a degree, download the appropriate application below and send it to: registrar@bgsu.edu or 419-372-7977 (fax). Once your guest or non-degree application has been submitted, you will receive an email with instructions on how to set up your BGSU email account. You will then be able to go onto MyBGSU to register for classes.
