Roz Sibielski is a PhD candidate in American Culture Studies with a concentration in Popular Culture and Women's Studies. She received an MA in Media Studies from Rhode Island College, where she also taught a course on Girl Power in contemporary American culture. Her research interest is primarily in the intersections between representational practices and individual identity formation, with a particular focus on the ways in which film and television texts influence viewers' constructions of themselves as gendered and sexed subjects.
