Came about in 1995, during a time when the internet was only built to handle text-based information.

Became good friends
 with Bill Gates.

Cut a deal with Microsoft to distribute RealAudio Player with every copy of Internet Explorer.

Battle with Microsoft
Microsoft’s replaced Real’s software with their own.
Glaser felt betrayed by Bill Gates.
Glaser tried to talk things over with Gates, but ended up in court.
Gates denied the allegations saying that here was a bug in Reals software

1995 -  He introduced RealPlayer, RealVideo, and RealSystems Technology.
1998 – Took Microsoft to court for replacing Real’s software.
2002 – Launched RealOne Super Player. (At one point had more subscribers than anyone else on the web.

RealNetworks technology is used by hundreds of millions of individuals all over the world.
RealOne player is installed on 90% of all US home PC’s.
RealNetworks system is used to broadcast more than 350,000 hours of live sports, music, news & entertainment over the internet every week.
