Throughout today's society, many factors contribute to the way
teenagers act everyday. Some of those factors may be movies, television, friends
and other forms of mass media or interpersonal communication. The factor we
believe causes a lot of effects on teenagers is music. Almost everyone has
listened to music and we believe music is most popular among teenagers (13-19).
This time in a child's life may be the most dramatic for changes taking place
whether it is how you look, who your friends are, and how you act. We believe
music and the many different genres of music help contribute to these changes
in life.
This history of music goes back thousands of years before instruments were even created. Music first began being broadcasted through the radio in the early 1900's and did not become popular until the mid 1940's. As new genres of music began to be exposed, radio became more popular and is still widely used today. With radios in almost every car, it is a cheap and satisfying way to enjoy music almost anytime. Throughout this project we will be looking into certain genres of music such as, heavy metal, rap, alternative, punk, and pop music. These genres we have found to be the most popular among teenagers and possibly the most controversial in some cases on how teenagers act.
