TCOM469 Sales Proposal Assignment

 

Objective:  To learn how to identify a prospect and write up a sales proposal that caters to the needs of the prospective advertiser.

 

Tasks: 

1. Identify a prospect within your assigned duty in the organization that you worked for in the selling experience report (e.g., WFAL, BGNEWS.COM, etc.).

2. Research on the industry/product category of your prospect.

3. Develop an advertising schedule on your media outlet that you propose

4. Write up a sales proposal report (use the format either in the sales proposal example given out in class earlier or in the proposal in the textbook p. 96-98)

5.  Use the proposal to sell to the prospect that will be reported in your selling experience report.

 

Note:  If you are not selling ads, but doing fund-raising, you have to create a fund-raising proposal to explain to your potential donor the benefits of donating/underwriting and the cause of your organization, and set an amount that you want the donor to donate.  You won’t have a schedule but you would need to show what acknowledgement or entitlements the donor would receive in return for the donation.

 

You will do this assignment alone and the proposal will be used for your actual selling. You should keep a copy of the proposal before sending the original to me.

 

The length of the proposal should not exceed five pages.  The proposal must be typed and single-spaced.
