Lance Gibbs is a Sociology major from Jamaica with a concentration in family studies. His research interests lie in father
involvement in people of the Diaspora, HIV/AIDS, Caribbean Sociology and criminology. His current project involves examining
the effects of African American resident single-fathers’ involvement on adolescents’ attitudes toward marriage. An ongoing
community activity of interest for Lance is teaching basic English classes for both children and adults in his home country.
