Ph.D., University of Wisconsin, 1997

I-Fen Lin received her Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997, and subsequently held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Office of Population Research and Center for Research on Child Wellbeing of Princeton University. She joined the Bowling Green faculty in 2000. Her areas of expertise include social psychology, family sociology, gender, and quantitative research methods. Dr. Lin's research interests center on family structure and child well-being, intergenerational exchanges, child support policies, and the quality of survey data. She is currently looking at the long-term consequences of growing up in a single-parent family on next generation parenting and the patterns and determinants of reciprocal helping behavior between generations in American and Taiwanese families.
