I-Fen Lin

Ph.D., University of Wisconsin, 1997

I-Fen Lin’s research interests center on family, child support, aging, and methods. Her research examines living arrangements after divorce, nonresident parents’ perceptions of and compliance with child support obligations, parents’ beliefs in visitation and decision-making rights after divorce, the effect of parental divorce on intergenerational transfers, and divorced parents’ expectation of support from their adult children in late life. Her ongoing projects include the study of whether informal care breaks the cycle of disability and depressive symptoms among older adults and the antecedents and consequences of middle and later life divorce in the United States.
