Dr. Cernkovich's primary research area is juvenile delinquency, having concentrated particularly on the impact of family,
peer and school factors on conforming and antisocial behavior. He also has conducted research on female delinquency and on
chronic juvenile offenders. The foci of his latest work includes the long-term consequences -- both positive and negative
-- of early involvement in antisocial behavior, race and gender variations in deviant behavior, and the combined effects of
adolescent victimization and delinquency on subsequent adjustment and behavior.
