Financial Assistance

Director of Graduate Studies: Dr. Stephen Demuth

Both teaching and research assistantships are available on a competitive basis. Qualified M.A. applicants receive financial assistance for two years, while qualified Ph.D. applicants receive assistance for four years. Assistantships include an annual (two semester) stipend and a tuition waiver. Although not guaranteed, M.A. and Ph.D. students with academic year assistantships are also eligible for additional funding during the summer as teaching or research assistants. In order to ensure consideration for financial assistance, all application materials should be submitted by January 30. Applications for admission will be accepted throughout the year, but we typically require that students begin the program in the fall semester.
