Both teaching and research assistantships are available on a competitive basis. Qualified M.A. applicants receive financial
assistance for two years, while qualified Ph.D. applicants receive assistance for four years. Assistantships include an annual
(two semester) stipend, tuition waiver, and payment of the general and non-resident fees. Funded students also receive a campus
parking permit. Although not guaranteed, M.A. and Ph.D. students with academic year assistantships are also eligible for additional
funding during the summer as teaching or research assistants. In order to ensure consideration for financial assistance, all
application materials should be submitted by January 30. However, applications for admission and financial aid will be accepted
throughout the year.
